During the years of trying to have a baby, I remember the mental list I had full of all the things I hoped to do with my children one day. The fun, the educational, the spiritual, the daring, etc, etc.
The zoo was always at the top of that list! And how stoked was I to finally be able to take Grayson there yesterday? If you guess very, you're right. ;)
He is at the age where everything he sees and hears is just soaked up like a sponge. I love that!
Grayson is a big lover of animals and at least once a day you will find him with a book about animals or bringing a book about animals over to read to him. It's totally adorable and we love his love for not only books, but animals! Elephants are his most favorite, but he really does love them all!
We invited Nate's mom, Sandy and step dad, Rick to go along with us for the day and we all had a really fun time! Grayson was a big fan of the waterfalls throughout the zoo-none of us were surprised, the kid LOVES water!
Liam was content sleeping for a while as we scoped out the lemurs, penguins, and bears. ;)
This cool kid got to go on his very first carousel ride and loved it, until after the second time around, then he had had enough!
We stopped for a quick photo at the lion that he loved sitting on!
These guys were a hit with Grayson for sure!
A little family photo on the turtle and frog. I cherish this photo as it captures us to a T-Liam ready to eat and tugging on Nate's shirt, Nate, warm but having so much fun, Grayson with mud on his leg and elbow (because playing in the mulch was way more fun than having his photo taken, duh! ;))and me trying to enjoy every moment with them this little.
I found this cute, little sheep! ;)
And he really enjoyed the touch tank where he got to touch a crab and watch a baby shark and sting ray swim by!
And finally a mini collection of the zoo from my iPhone. :) Tortoises, baby carrying my chunk, Liam and leaving the zoo after 3.5 hours of fun! :)
Yesterday reminded me of how wonderful life is. A small snippet of how blessed we are. To be Americans, to have our freedoms, to be able to enjoy all the Lord has created. Life is sometimes so busy (too busy if you ask me), so stressful, so chaotic that I know I often forget to just stop and take each moment in and be thankful that I even have what I have and that I'm even here to enjoy it.
Living life one moment at a time and counting each blessing as they come.
Another fun day in the books! :)
