Cards for Kids

I just remembered to share some more of my simple cards that I made for Cards for Kids!

First up are 2 pocket cards.

Hero Arts Little Owl stamp, American Crafts Zing! Embossing Powder & chipboard hearts, Studio Calico scrap paper (yellow at bottom) & kraft/grocery bag cardstock from Archiver's.

I tucked away scraps of white cardstock with a bunch of random stamped images for a child to color in. I plan on attaching a few crayons to the back. Loved making this!

 

Hero Arts Flower & Sentiment stamps, MME gems & scallop card from Archivers.

This one will also be filled with stamped sheets of cardstock!

And here a couple others I will be sending off for Cards for Kids...

 

 

Now, I just have to get my rear in gear & actually mail them out! ;)

 
 
 

Livin' Cozy

The bookshelf in our office even says so. Thanks to the fabulous print I received from Kristina...an early birthday present that I adore!   

We finally purchased a small rug for our living room. I had forgotten how much I missed the feel of carpet under my feet in there!  *Note to self: never buy a home with hardwood floors. We're not fans. :)

 

Mom & Phil brought me a quart of blackberries they purchased from a local Amish family the other day. Mmmm one of my favorite summertime fruits!  So, a cobbler (gramcracker's recipe of course!) was made!

 

Two of my favorite things: Hartzler Dairy milk & Panera's sourdough. I'd have that milk all day, everyday if I could! 

And one of the cards I made for Cards for Kids, using some Copics! 

Oh, & for those who might be wondering...it was a negative on Saturday. Round 2 coming up after vacation. Praying.

Lately Around Here

...I've been using my new Copics like crazy! I'll be sure to show some of my little cards real soon!

...I've played a few rounds of Skip Bo with Nate the last few days. I love it!

...I made sloppy joes for lunch today. They were the only thing that sounded good!

...I've been trying super hard to be strong. To balance the emotions. So far, so good.

...I've been counting the days until test day. Praying.

...I received news that two people very close to me are expecting. 2 weeks apart! 2011 will for sure be the year of the babies around these parts!

...I'm finding a new love for Snapple. Just that Holly Robinson Pete flavor from when she was on Celebrity Apprentice. It's delish!

...Last night Mom dropped off THE best homemade blueberry muffins I have ever eaten! Gah. They were sooo good!

...I scrapped this page about 2 weeks ago, but thought I'd share with you sweet Noah & his chubby cheeks!

 

...We've been counting down the days til Key West. 24 to go!

...I'm thanking the good Lord above for ALL my blessings. Even when I don't think I can take any more news.

The Time my Bestie Came to Visit!

My dear best friend, Kristina & her sweet family, Michael, Caylin & Maggie drove to Ohio to spend a few days with me, Nate & the fam!  It was a whirlwind of a time, but I had a blast & I hope they did too!

K is 6 months pregnant so it was fun to see her sweet belly!  One day she pooped out, the next I did! Ha! I think it was the heat, the lack of sleep & all the running around we did!  One day we went to the Football Hall of Fame (the husbands wanted to see it. Us girls were quite bored!), had some Greek for lunch & shopped a bit.  The next day we ventured to Archiver's (of course!) & had lunch at a favorite Italian place.

Lots of crammed car rides, heat-induced craziness, chatting, laughing & lounging!

 

 
Saturday we celebrated mom finishing school, with a party at gramcracker & grandpa's.  It was a lot of fun, but oh, so HOT!  

However, we managed to gets lots of good eating in with gram's awesome Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork & Creamed Shredded Chicken!  And just look at mom's awesome & yummy cake to celebrate!

 

Little Caylin sure was a busy bee-we had a lot of fun playing with her & of course Nate LOVED playing cars with her! She even got to sit on grandpa's Harley yesterday! So cute!

 

After gram & gramp's yesterday, we all came back to mom & Phil's for an evening of sunshine, bubbles & visiting!

 

 
Then, we had a fire & roasted marshmallows & made s'mores!  And then, we caught lighting bugs!!

 

It was such a fun visit with family! :)  So thankful to have the Proffitt's in my life. SO thankful!

We all love you, Proffitt's!  Can't wait to see you again! 

A Little Sweet in this Heat

 

Oatmeal Pecan Ice Cream Sandwiches.

(because the original recipe is oatmeal raisin, but Nate is not a fan of raisins IN stuff, so we just doubled the pecans! ;))

Delicousness. 

Whipped these up today after making some homemade enchiladas for lunch!

They're huge though.  Definitely big enough to share!

Follicle Update

Yesterday's appointment showed a nice little follicle right at 16mm. Dr. M asked me to give it one more day.

Nate & I drove to Akron again today, waited another 40 minutes (where we ran into 2 different friends of ours in the same office!  What are the chances?!), I got to do my usual hop up on the table & my favorite doctor came in with some pep to her step, which is always encouraging!

On came the screen where I saw that little follicle that had GROWN! Praise the Lord!  Dr. M said it was "perfect!"

I hopped over to another room where the nurse gave me the HCG injection in my backside & Nate & I giggled & praised Him!!

Now, we wait. & pray. & pray some more.

I keep praying for the Lord to just give me strength whatever the results.  Strength to handle whatever happens in the next couple of weeks.

Five friends of mine are expecting currently. I would LOVE to be number six, ya know?! :)

Thank you for the thoughts & prayers!  It has been a busy, but wonderful few days!  I am so, so grateful to have such a funny, supportive, amazing husband!  As well as the best friends & family ever!  Thankful for the emails, phone calls & texts full of encouragement & support! BLESSED.

In the meantime, I am super pumped for my BFF, Kristina & family's visit next week!  Several days with my some of my most favorite people!  SO excited!  Nate can't wait to play cars with Caylin!  I'll be blogging more about that while they're here!

Freedom

Our 4th of July consisted of:

Delicious hand made vanilla & red velvet cupcakes (with rinsed & re-used American Crafts cupcake toppers from last year! :))

 

Mom loved decorating the cupcakes with the new-to-us cream cheese frosting from Pillsbury!

These 2 caught up on their sports car reading before we all ventured to the park!

Then once at the park, they were even kind enough to walk down to the pizza shop & bring us dinner!

 

 
After dinner, we enjoyed the deliciousness that were the cuppycakes! Haha!

Tana whipped out her latest People magazine & got to work on the crossword puzzle in the back!

 
  Tricia dropped by for a bit & we people-watched!

He makes my heart happy. Cuuute! :)

 

Tana had to have a funnel cake. She got it. Then dumped most of the sugar on herself! D'oh!

 
 There were just a couple people there before the big show! ;)

It was a terrific (though, insanely hot) day & I am so thankful for my freedom!  USA is still the greatest country in the world, even with all the shenanigans that go on! Hope yours was just as awesome!

Grow, Grow, Growing!

Thank you all so much for the kind words of hope & prayer!  Nate & I appreciate them so much!

I am excited to say that my ultrasound today showed something I have never been fortunate enough to see, ever (the last Clomid attempt nearly 3 years ago failed to do anything at all)....FOLLICLES!!

Happy, growing follicles!!

The biggest ones measured 8mm & 11mm.

I need them to be between 16mm & 20mm.

Grow, grow, grow little follicles!

Nest appointment is this coming Wednesday where I actually want to get a shot in my behind, because that will mean HUGE progress! Haha!  Praying!

Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!  We'll be celebrating by getting the family together at the park early on, having a picnic, hanging out & people watching before the fireworks!  It's become our tradition & I LOVE it!

Timing.

See those little pills? That's Clomid. 

I had an impromptu appointment with my doctor last Thursday after my Provera worked.

After the joy of an internal ultrasound, Dr. M said everything looked perfect! 

Time for Clomid!

Tomorrow morning at 8:45 to be exact I get to have another ultrasound to see if the Clomid helped with follicle production!  If so, time for a shot in my rear (fun, right?!) & then we wait some.

Praying that maybe this time will be the time. Maybe?

Nate & I are full of emotions.  Trying not to get too excited, but trying to keep positive. :)

It's all in God's hands.
