My headache finally went away this afternoon, just in time for some fried chicken, gravy & biscuits at gram & gramp's!  It was totally the last thing I needed (high calorie day anyone?! ;)), but seriously, who could pass one of the meals ever up?

Last night I worked on my April AC assignment & also got this page done.

Today's thoughts.  Well, yesterday's thoughts, now I suppose. ;)

Journaling: His ways are not my ways. She will get better.I can't control everything. There are not enough hours in the day. it's ok to break down & cry when i see a pregnant belly. I am so grateful to have a job. I love my friends & family. I need a pedicure. I miss Nate. I can't wait for our stay @ Carlisle Inn in April. Life is good.

ps: everyone needs those foam AC thickers! SO fun!! and you can't really tell here, but I used my AC embossing powder for the journaling block!  In mustard.  i LOVE it!

I am really enjoying playing around with my style lately.  It's so fun to do a clean & simple page & then go messy & freestyle on the next!  I love this hobby! :)

Thanks for all the great comments on the purses!  I am still kind of undecided.  Now, I think it's just between the green & yellow ones.  One second I think I'm leaning towards the green one, then the next it's the yellow!  I told myself to have my mind made up by this Friday! Yellow? Green? Yellow? Green?! haha.

But, for now I'm off to spend some quality time with the hubs! Have a great evening!

Blogworld, we have a problem!

So, even tho I have a pounding headache & should be resting, I still couldn't help going back to taht Etsy shop just now..."just to see" what's new...

uh oh.  I totally shouldn't have, because now...they have this one listed-

I would totally get 2 if money were no object here, but unfortunately it is, so I must only choose one!

I am IN LOVE with all things "happy yellow" right now & I dunno, I gotta say this one may just be my front runner right now, but is the yellow too light?  I'm afraid one wrong sit down & it's ruined. ack!

What do you think?

So, thanks to my dear, sweet friend EK & her enabling ways ;) ;) (sharing a link on her blog), I found a great purse maker on Etsy.  

And now, since I am in "need" of a new purse, I found two at that shop that I just cannot decide on.

I am so torn! 

How dramatic am I??

So, please help me decide! 

Ok, but before I show you the goods, let me give you a little info that may be helpful:

I love big purses.

I like having a dark color to show less wear/stains/etc.

I am all about plain.

I am all about print.

I want something that sits comfortably on my shoulder.

So, with that, here are my choices. I'd love your opinion!

First, the cute "Daphne In Garden" how cute are those pleats?!

Second, the big spacious, green shoulder bag. I looove that color!

I hope your weekend is going good!  I spent 5 hours spring cleaning my dad's house last night after work (that's what the purse is for!  some of my hard earned money is going to my much deserved treat! haha!) & I couldn't even more this morning, I was so sore!

Today Nate & I went to a local craft show where I got a yummy vanilla candle & the cutest bunny/spring sign!  Then, we ventured to the Rubbermaid Store to pick up some containers for seasonal clothes & new storage containers.  I love that place! We also stopped for some lunch at one of our favorite little hole- in- the -wall places in Wooster before stopping by Audrey's, where they were having a fun springtime sale & you cracked open an egg to reveal a discount.  Mine was for 30% off!  And this is what I came out with-

some spring flowers, a cute glass tea light holder, a berry ring with metal stars & some garland!

After Nate left for work, I decided to get crazy & spring clean most of our house! In the process of trying to place my new berry garland on the mantle, I broke one of my Willow Tree figurines!  ack. It was the Mi Casa one, & the little metal house fell off, as did her poor little head. :(  I'm going to have Nate try & glue the head back on, but I'm not so sure it will work. Oh blah!

So, now I am pooped!  Tomorrow is church, then lunch, then working on my AC assignment & then...NAPTIME! :) haha.

Side note:  Thank you for the emails & comments here about Megan.  I have decided to just Give it to God & keep praying for her to see the light in her time, & just be there for her whenever she needs me. Thanks so, so much for the prayers!

struggling to understand

I admit; I just don't get people.

Mainly 19 year olds with a whole life ahead of them who just want to waste it away.

Ok.

Mostly just Megan.

This girl is going through some stuff that she isn't proud of, but has no ambitions to change.

Unfortunately, too much has come out & it has left my heart broken.

Add to the fact that while she apologizes, she just doesn't care.

It's no secret, her & I are like night & day. And by no means am I saying I'm perfect, because , hello. I'm just not! I have many, MANY issues myself....but I can see them & want to change & work on becoming better, but not Megan.

It's almost like she enjoys going against the grain, breaking the rules just to see how far & how much she can get away with.

It kills me (and my family) because she has SO MUCH potential.  She's smart & beautiful, caring when she wants to be...she has this spunk about her that makes you love her more.

WHY is she throwing everything away?

I have so many questions for God.  I ask Him all the time why He does the things He does?  What are His reasons?  Why the pain?  The suffering?  The heartache?  

I know I just have to trust in Him.  And believe His will will be done.  And remember: it's in His time, not mine.  

I know I just have to keep praying for Megan.  That's all I can do, and to be honest, as much as I want to turn my back on her, I know I can't. I know she needs us now more than ever, even if she thinks she doesn't.

If you could please send up a prayer for Megan & our family we would all appreciate it so much. 

I didn't want to post something so down in the dumps, but this is the only thing on my mind right now.

I just had a conversation with her before I sat down here & I think instead of making things better, it made things worse.  I feel like the world's worst big sister, but I have no clue how to help her or to help make her see that the path she is heading down is NOT the one for her.

welp, here's my new do :)

i am pretty tickled with it! tricia always does such a good job...and i love the blonde color she gave me!  

other than that, nate & i had a great, great day in cleveland yesterday!  i had my camera with us, but ended up not taking my purse in with me to the huge market, which resulted in no photos from the day! ha. we got LOTS of good fruits & veggies, lots of fresh, healthy cuts of meat & stayed away from all the sweets!  we are so proud of ourselves!

after our trip to the market, we stopped by Cheesecake Factory for lunch, which was i was a little nervous about, but we did SO good there too! AND completely skipped the cheesecake all together!!  now, THAT was hard! lol!

we did some shopping at the mall & tarjay...just had an awesome day!  we came home & put all our good stuff away, and later I made gyros with the fresh pitas we bought at the market!  we did a low fat version as best we could, loading them with tomato & lettuce & a little reduced fat sour cream-they were deee-licious!  i also made low fat cupcakes which were super good too!

here's the recipe, it makes about 10-12

2 cups of flour

1 cup of sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 eggs

1/4 cup of vegetable oil

1/4 cup of unsweetened apple sauce

Put all the ingredients together and beat with a mixer (I used my Kitchenaid) on medium-high setting for 3 minutes.

Place cupcake wrappers in a cupcake pan and fill them with batter (this is where I LOVE my Pampered Chef squeeze scoop thing!). Bake at 350* for 25 minutes and test with a toothpick to make sure they're done.

Nate has a hard time not having frosting, so I picked this up:

Pillsbury whipped cream cheese.  You get 1 tbsp. for 50 calories & it didn't even take that much to cover one of these cupcakes, no too bad if you have to have something sweet on top.

Oh, and for those wondering about the roast beef rollups, they're just a whole wheat tortilla, spread a bit of light cream cheese on it, place 1 slice lean roast beef on top, and load it up with any veggies you want! I love tomato & lettuce on mine-soo good & not very fattening at all!  I like taking them in my lunch!

I'm off to stop by the parents & then am really hoping to scrap tonight! We shall see! Hope your weekend is going great!

-i've walked for 30 minutes every, single night this week. thank you, wii fit!

-the real world made me sad today (re: last night's episode)...i love that ryan guy.

-saw grandma & grandpa today!  LOVE seeing them!

-hair cut/highlight/eyebrow wax tomorrow night. be there or be square! ;)

-a full on date DAY with nate saturday!!  going to cleveland! cannot wait!

-i want a dog. like yesterday.

-i've got big hopes to plant a garden this year. excited! 

-my back hurts. from walking? think so.

-the card i did for the AC blog went up yesterday!

-i have a new found love for prunes. haha.

-the weather here has been GORGEOUS! today was a bit chilly, but so what! blue skies & sunshine! i love!

-nate's lunch was stolen tonight. i feel so bad.  he was more upset that they "stole our good rubbermaid containers!" LOL!

-and before i go...another layout for the vaca album! (sorry for the blur)

bits & pieces

yesterday's toddler room consisted of 7 cute & rather well behaved kids, that had us cracking up & challenging nate like never before (think: the only little boy in the class had a #2 accident allll over & it wasn't pretty!), but nate was a champ & took care of everything, all while providing a lot of laughs after the fact! he's going to be such a good dad someday! :)

we had a yummo chinese lunch at Wild Ginger with my parents & Megan, stopped at a few craft stores, where i finally picked up a heat gun to use with the fun american crafts embossing powder, came home, nate went off to work &  i scrapped!

these pages aren't from yesterday tho. i didn't get that one finished yet. oops!

today was #1 of a fresh, new start.  i did 30 minutes on the wii fit & then nate & i went for a walk around town!  it was wonderful!  now, i must get a back rub! lol

too bad i bought some new scrap/stamp goods & i am dying to play with them right now (see purple & red bags ;)), but have NO empty table space!

I'm a list maker.

I love that I am.

Here's today's list. So random :)

-I found some new, good music.  The Script. If you watch Sober House on Vh1 like me, you may have heard their song, "Before the worst"...totally good.  

-I scrapped this afternoon, but forgot to take a photo of my page before the sun went down. I'll show you soon! :)

-We've noticed this is the year of the weddings for us!  We got 3 save the dates this week alone! ack!  It looks like we'll be able to make 2 out of the 3, which isn't so bad considering I have a husband who works every single weekend!

-One of those weddings is near Nate's hometown, which means we get to spend the night somewhere!-like plan a weekend trip together kinda!  Yey!  It's the little things that really get me excited! hehe.

-I'm starting to look for some cute new clothes again.  I found this cute dress  at oldnavy.com..I haven't worn a dress in years, but I'd really like to find one for church, work, weddings even? What do you think? I would also have to find a cardigan to go over, since I don't wear sleeveless out anywhere ;)

-Nate & I had a great morning/afternoon today, grocery shopping.  I really miss the grocery store in our old town...it's bigger & has a much better selection of healthy/unique foods than the store near us now. We decided to go to the old store today...found lots of healthy stuff for Monday.

-Oh. and Monday? that's THE day. & that's all I'm saying. :)

-we have toddler room duty tomorrow & i am TOTALLY dreading it. Lord, please give me strength!

-i kinda like my hair in a messy bun.

-i am not a fan of the new Facebook layout. not at all.

-i was laying on our bed today, just daydreaming & in those daydreams thought how fantastic it would be to buy this house. if money were no problem, i would rip out a few walls & make the kitchen & bathroom much bigger/up to date, and paint our bedroom a lovely light, light shade of happy blue, & get new carpet, & refinish the hardwoods in the living room, & put granite countertops in the kitchen & travertine flooring...i'd also put all new light fixtures throughout.

oh to daydream.

-i should really put some effort or deeper thought into going back to school. since now i know my true calling is to be a teacher. like i was supposed to be all along.  i pray this dream will become a reality one day.

-i'm loving finding old photos of nate & i.  it takes me back to this different kind of goodness & makes me so happy!

-i hate having to decline an invitation out with friends.  Nate's co-worker & his wife invited us to go to Dave & Buster's this coming Tuesday night, but it's a bit of a drive from home & we just won't have enough time by the time I get home from work. oh blah.

-my current fave AC product?

of course, it's gotta be Thickers, but this font & material are my favorite right now!

-Speaking of, AC is getting a fresh new look this Monday!  You must check out the blog for some new ideas this week!  I am so excited to see what everyone has done!
