7 days until 24.

Is it bad that it wasn’t even until today that I realized it’s my birthday next week? Yikes!

I guess it’s true what they say-the older you get, the less fun it becomes?! lol

Nah. I really don’t feel that way, but my, has the time flown! It’s August tomorrow already? Really?!

Anywhoo..I took the day off…and have nothing planned. Eh. Whatev.

Nate will have to work in the evening & I just want to sleep in & maybe go to lunch.

Craemer is here!  He’s currently laying on the papason  (sp?) cushion konked out! So cute!

The new shower/tub is also here…and evry much unusable, because Lowe’s gave the guy 2 left sides. Nice. So, thank goodness for wonderful parents who live 3 minutes away, giving us their garage door opener so Nate can shower at

this morning after work..and I can shower in the morning before work. Blah, this stinks.

It has been a pretty crappy week. I have been super busy with stuff at both work & home, I feel like our house is a wreck, I am exhausted, I miss Nate, and my mother in law has decided to drop on by this Sunday & Monday. Lovely.

I know I must sound mean, but eh. I’m just not happy about last minute stays. Call me crabby, I don’t care. LOL ;)

So, I’ll get to spend all of Sunday afternoon & evening with her alone. I hope it goes well, that’s all I’m saying.

I went to an Uppercase Living party last night at my friend Katie’s. SUPER cute stuff!  With us being renters, I hate the thought of putting something on my walls that can’t be there for a long time, ya know?  So, I was excited to find out that stuff sticks to anything! I bought a D monogram & “est. 2006” for a perfect idea they had in their catalog…can’t wait for it to get here & to hit up some antique stores for just the right window pane or frame!

Anywhoo, it’s past my bedtime & I am so tired.

It's been a wonderful couple of days! Lots of down time, some scrapping (being organized helps so much!), lots of wonderful time with my grandparents yesterday (gramcracker made us a southern breakfast-sausage gravy & biscuits, eggs, potato chunks & my favorite-fried apples! it was amazing!), some shopping=new bras & Old Navy tanks (I wear them under everything! I think own about 15 now! haha)...just a plain ol' good day...weekend really!

I busted the tile wall in our shower a couple weeks ago & our land lord has decided to just give us a whole new shower! Complete with a fiberglass shower, new tub & fixtures! Praise the Lord! That was my least favorite part of this house since we moved in! The guy is coming this Thursday...I just pray they're gone by the time I get home from work that night & Friday...I hate having "strangers" around..especially after a long day of work! 

Craemer will be staying with us Thursday & Friday nights & maybe even Saturday night! I can't wait!  I even found a fun (and I'm hoping scrumptious!) doggy biscuit recipe to try! I think I'll bake them up for him Friday night! I am sooo excited! I miss him all the time, everyday sine I moved out over 2 years ago!

That's about it, I think!  I'm off to go nuggle with the hubs! Thank the Lord for days off!! :)

Their trash is my treasure!

I have to admit; when it comes to “thrifting” I tend to be more excited at the thought of going than actually going…is that weird? ;)

But, thank goodness I have a husband who loves to “treasure hunt!” (even if it really is only for Hotwheels ;)) and gets me to go from time to time.

For a month now my grandparents have been telling me about a great sale happening this weekend.  Their neighbors of 40 years are members of the local sportsmen club & had been gathering donations in their garage from near & far for months to raise money for the club. I was actually pretty excited to go this morning… (I’m really trying to fight the awkwardness I feel for some dumb reason!) and am so happy that we went!

Because look at what I found! (this is missing the neat wooden shelf Nate found for some his favorite Hotwheels for 50 cents!):

 

2 glass jars (the blue tint ones are ones that my grandma picked up for me at the “presale” Thursday night!), that cuuute rustic turquoise basket (I think it’s my favorite!) and LOTS of trimmings and some cute pink buttons and zippers…all for a whopping $2.10!

Seriously, I love when someone else’s trash becomes my treasure!

It made my day! I have since washed up all the jars, un-spun the trimmings & did this with them:

Oh, nothing like new storage solutions at the scrap space! I straightened and rearranged the whole space. It took me over 2 hours! I also purged a bunch of old stuff & scraps. Feels good! :)

Oh, almost forgot! I got SO much of the trimmings, I want to share!  I have 2 swatches with 4 different colors/styles each, so if you’d like one just leave me a comment & I’ll have Nate work is number magic Monday!  They are seriously great too...I can’t wait to add them to some pages!

After we stopped by the sale and my grandparent’s house (which, by the way, gramcracker was totally making jam of all kinds-blueberry/peach/raspberry/strawberry!  YUM!  I want to be just like her when I grow up. Seriously. :)) we went to Maurice’s because I am in need of some new shirts and I found not 1, but 2!  I was so excited!  That never happens!  I also picked up a cute necklace…oh, I love it all! Such cuteness! Haha! I’ll have to take photos and you can be the judge!

Nate went to work, I stopped by Tricia’s to give her back her church directory that I stole-lol, and then went grocery shopping…I managed to save $17.00 & came in $23.00 under budget! That, my friends is a good grocery trip! Not to mention, gas is “cheap” here this weekend it’s “only” $3.79/gallon! (hahahaha…ugh.)…so, yeahhh…budget is lookin good! ;)

I am also proud to say, Nate & I have knocked one whole line of credit OFF and #2 and #3 will be gone in August!!  I can feel us getting to closer and closer to our first home everyday! (even tho it’ll probably be another 2 or so years before that happens, but still! We’re making progress!)

Sooo, yeah…can ya tell it’s been a pretty boring night?! I’m rambling!

Something you might know about me is that I am clumsy/ditzy...

like-I overslept this morning. ack. I forgot to set the stinkin' alarm all because I remembered looking at my clock last night & thinking I set it, but errr...I obviously didn't!

Today at work I was walking into the restroom & got caught on the mat in the stall & completely fell onto the toilet!

Then tonight I was trying to open the curtains here in the office & they weren't opening...and I pulled a little too hard (impatience, maybe?) & pulled the whole thing down & the rod fell right on my foot & cut my 2nd toe! Yuck!

what a day! I'm happy the week is half over...hurry Friday!

holy smokes! i did a mini!

         I can't believe it either! Now, I'll admit; I've started about 3 or 4 other mini's in the past & 2 pages into this one I remembered why I never finish one-I get bored! LOL

Isn't that terrible?!  But, I KNEW I had to do this one. Had to! I bought this cute chipboard album by October Afternoon & had all the fun photos from the zoo on the 4th, so I buckled down & worked on it last night during Tricia & I's scrap session at my house & then finished it tonight! I have to giggle at how sloppy it is, but it's done & I'm happy!  At least all these photos have a home in one spot now!  Please forgive the horrible photos. I am too tired to bother editing! :)

yeah. today has been such an ugh day. well, not all of it, but most of it!

i think i just need a.) a new job b.) some sleep (like 12 hours sounds good!) c.) well, just those 2 things right now :)

I got see Megan tonight! I dropped by her work-she works at the coolest place in town-a pet SPA! seriously, so fun! it's also a kennel...but not just any kennel..they have rooms with leather couches & tv for the dogs! ahhh! crazy. right?! annnyways, I had to drop her Pampered Chef off & couldn't wait to see her face when she discovered the "extra" goodies I threw in with some of my freebie points! She was SO excited! Who knew a sillicone whisk & large "spoonula" coould make one so happy?! :) I love that girl! Even tho I worry about her everyday, I know she's a tough cookie.  It doesn't help that the apartment across the hall from her got robbed last week. UGH! I try not to think  about it.

anyways, this is random, but I was updating the albums a bit on here tonight & felt like journaling. :) now, it's almost my bedtime & i want to take a relaxing shower before I go! here I am on my way home from a long day at work last week...or the week before? I don't remember! (oh, and I promise I really do wear other shirts besides that gray stripe one! I just noticed I'm wearing in like all my photos lately! LOL)

pure goodness

Every morning on my way to work I pray. From the second I put the car in reverse I start my chat with God the same way I have since I was like, 14. I thank Him for the day & for allowing me to be here, enjoying what He has created & done for me. Then I continue on & on...usually ending right about the time I hop onto the highway, but I must say that is only coincidence because somedays happen to be shorter & some days I just pour out all kinds of stuff! The best part? It doesn't matter how long or short it is- He's listening! He hears everything.

And this morning was no different.

I st arted my prayer...went on & on...but I was so overjoyed with what He's been doing in my life lately! The last couple of days, especially. It still amazes me just how God knows right when we need Him the most or what we need something the most! I am so grateful taht He knows what He is doing! Yes, Nate & I have a pretty crummy schedule, but we know we shouldn't complain. There are peope who have it way worse out there...but, it's still hard. We miss a lot of evening time, time to go out & do things, time to socialize, time to just be. But, I am so thankful that God provides when He does. The last couple of weekends have been great, but the last couple of days have somehow been even better! Just having the days to lounge, do things at our pace, not having to watch the clock before Nate goes to work. All those things, those little things really mean the very most.

Monday we ventured out to the grocery store (saw my friend Melanie!), came home & made some yummy soft tacos, watched some Design Star & Next Food Network Star, then decided it was time to purchase new cell phones since mine kept dying, due to not keeping a charge. So, off to Verizon we went where we ended up picking the same phone, except mine is pink! It was great tho because I always hate going in there-long lines, boring technology, they always screw something up...but we lucked out because we were in & out of there in record time! I was excited! haha! After Verizon, we decided to do some local antique browsing...just for the simple fact that we could! On our way, we happened to be passing the old toy store I worked at before my current job, Toyrifix. I suggested we stop & see what kind of fun we could find. I am SO happy we did, because an old co-worker of mine was there & my old boss came down, as did the owner! We had a wonderful little reunion & there are no words for happy my heart felt! It's odd to even mention, but it's true! We talked for a long time & they even asked me to be a secret shopper..of course I said yes..anything to help! My old manager told me they'd always have a spot for me if I ever wanted to come back. I laughed, but I just might consider it with the way things have been going at my current job!

I even found the cutest little owl stamp! Oh gosh...sooo cute! I can't wait to use it!

After the toystore, we ventured to a big antique warehouse, where I of course found lots of goodness, but behaved & didn't buy a single thing! It's always so much fun just to look. I always wonder who owned those things...I can't wait to go in one day & just buy like, a lot! haha! :)  We also stopped to get gas...it's down in price here this week...it's only $3.99/gallon! yuck! Lots of people were looking at me funny as I snapped this (and others) photo! LOL The things you do to scrap you life! ;)

Yesterday I had to work, but after a morning french vanilla coffee purchased by the hubs as I got ready for the day (how wonderful is he?!), I was good to go! The work day was the best one I've had in a LONG time. Crazy! The best part (as always) was coming home! After the shower guy came, we just chilled out. It was wonderful! We just laid on the bed watching tv, he even watched that new Ashley Paige show on TLC with me! Whata man, huh?! :) We cracked up at it...so fun!

Anyways, I just wanted to say I am so tghankful for God's blessings. Even tho somedays are hard & I am frustrated or uncertain, He always makes it ok. Such goodness! I hope your week is going wonderfully! yey for only 2 more days of the week! :) I'm off to have some some dinner (turkey breast on pumpernickel! YUM!) & sort some Pampered Chef orders!

Oh, and both days were just gorgeous out! God is good!

sunny day & nothing to do!

Today is my last day off for this lovely 4 day weekend & I am gonna live it up...doing nothing! :) Nate doesn't have to work (it's his weekend), so he's currently in the living room playing Guitar Hero (I love Aerosmith, but man, I am getting tired of hearing the music! lol) & I am here, updating the blog & watching That's Life! (a local show that I enjoy) & that's pretty much the extent of our day so far!

I am really hoping we can get that shelf hung today.  Yesterday was a bit full, with church, a bathroom shower-fixer-upper guy coming to give an stimate on the shower wall that gave way (more on that later!), lunch & ten I went to my grandpa & gramcracker's house for the rest of the night to chill while Nate was at work! Anyyywhooo..yeah. :) So, I'm hoping we can get it up & I can finally have some sense of organization! Also hoping to go pick up a few groceries (that I'm almost positive will cost $40 for 2 bags), grill out for dinner tonight, get a massage (because I was super sick when Nate got home...have no clue why, but I couldn't stop getting sick & had the worst body aches ever-yuck!) & now this morning I'm feeling much better, but I hurt all over! Good grief, I'm falling apart! haha.

I love days like these. The kind where you've been blessed with a few extra days to run around, get stuff done & then have that final day to basically just chill out. Yeah, those are good!

3 doors, random & a giveaway!

So, we had a blast last night! We had dinner before at Cracker Barrel (nothing sounded super great & I had never eaten there, so we did!) and it was good..too much food that I didn't eat & wasn't able to bring home, but it was tasty! :)

We got to Blossom in great time & while chilling out in the car & random guy from some band in Columbus approcahed us with cd's.  Nate & I took a listen-not my kind of music, but Nate liked it, so he bought it! lol. We had gotten conflicting info on what was allowed & what wasn't, so we decided to bring the blanket & camera along anyways. Too bad we got denied at the gate. :( No blankets, only towels & "no cameras like that" accordingy to the snippy gate lady!  I was SO bummed!  I really didn't want many photos of the concert, I just wanted a couple, but still. Not allowed. Now, if I had had a point & shoot it would have been fine. Such a bummer! So, I got my exercise in to say the least! At least we got this shot in the car before heading to the venue! lol

We found a perfect spot on the HUGE hill & chilled for a while, doing my favorite: people watching! Boy, there are some messed up people out there! The things we saw& heard...wow. Crazy! We cracked up throughout the night at the stupid way people act! Now, I'm all about having fun, but good grief-some people are just plain OUT there!

A group I had never heard of called Jet Black Stare performed first. Not bad at all! Then Hinder, which the lead guy used the F bomb wayyy too many times, but other than that super good show too!  Staind came on & the crowd went crazy.  I had no idea they were that popular! lol Turns out I really only like one song of theirs that I heard on the radio. The rest is wayy too hard rock for me, but again, Nate liked it! :) 3 doors Down finally came out at about 9...oh my. Totally worth the numb butt & sweat! LOL I love them more now than ever! Seriously. They did amazing!  I wish I had audio or pictures or something, but nope. Just the memories in my brain! :)  We left a little early to avoid waiting in traffic-it was worth it! No traffic at all!

On the ride home, we opened the moon roof & let the summer hit hit us-it was absolutely wonderful! coulnd't have been better! It was definitely worth the calling off & Nate's PTO point at work! It was nice to have a normal date night..on a Friday! So rare for us!

Tonight, I have scrapped 3 pages! Here's a couple! 

 -that cute little 'remember' tag is from Kelly at kellydesigns4uon etsy! i LOVE her stuff & will actually be getting to work with a bit more from her for some samples in her store! so fun! :) and a 12x12! I am also in the middle of rearranging my scrap space.  I found a long shelf in our sun room that fits perfect above my table! But, I have no clue about hanging it up, so I'll have to wait for tomorrow when Nate can do it!  I organized all my tags/labels/punches/etc in my old glass ribbon jars (the ribbon has been retired to a big bag!) that will be perfect on the shelf & give me more table space! I'm so excited!

Oh, what a seriously amazing day!

pretty much perfection. we slept in, took our time getting ready, played the new Guitar Hero Aerosmith edition (which I found I completely SUCK at!) & the weather was beeeeautiful!

the concert was amazing, but I will have to share more on that tomorrow..err..TODAY..but a little later b/c it's 1 a.m. & I am exhausted!

oh, but I do have to say that Archiver's made. my. day. all I have to say is: a WHOLE WALL of Thickers!!! oh my. the decisions I had to make were painful! ;)
