the little things

it's been a while!  time gets away from me...plus, i've been thinking about cancelling my blog, but I want to keep all my old posts, but haven't figured out a way to do that yet, so for now, it stays.

-we had a great weekend!

-not enough sleep. lots of eating out. [chipotle, the amish door{yummy amish cooked food.}, Panera bread, Pizza Hut.] ewww listed like that, no wonder I'm huge!

-good times with our friends. we played a couple of games, watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre & shopped. Pleasant. :)

-cleveland auto show for nate & i=GREAT time!  we found some pretty great cars we could see ourselves in soon. like the new Jeep Grand Cherokee...i loved! the honda's are always a favorite, but the new CRV seemed too small this time. also loved the Mitshubishi [how do you spell that anyways?!] SUV's...ummm..we liked some cars, like the new Chrysler Sebring. But, I'm all about suv's lately..so we'll see. It was fun tho!

-nate bought me another Vera Bradley!! she's so cute! bigger & roomy-er & brighter! i'm ready for spring now! :)

-still no clue what we're doing with life. hmff. jobs, home, relocating, etc. talk about stressful.

-mom's birthday in 1 week-surprising her with her own Vera too since she would never spend the money on herself! plus, having the family over for dinner next Sunday!

-thinking about getting Aslan a brother cat.  oh, and he climbs the curtains! greeeat. and no, we're not getting him declawed. i'd rather spend the money on a dog.

-i need sleep. i really do.

-i have been so emotional lately.  i see a little kid, i cry.  i think about nate, i cry.  i don't get the house cleaned quick enough, i cry. LOL the madness of it all.

-nate gave me a [good] reason to cry yesterday. on our way up to cleveland, he handed me a piece of paper with a handwritten list on it. the list included all kinds of realllly nice things..it was all the things he loves about me. *sigh*

-i bought the coolest pen ever. it's a lizard & he dances when you write! yeah. i know. i'm cool! ;) haha.

-finally got more/new contacts. i passed out at the eye doctor for them, but i got them. !

-my step sister is getting married in 2 months..and my step brother just got engaged last week. dang! i guess my mom got her wish when she said she wanted us all out of the house!! LOL j/k, my mom is not the mean one, i am! ;) haa.

-i need a vacation. is that bad?

-i need a new job. that's even worse.

Nate & I went scrapbook shopping Saturday [Archiver's & Cord Camera=Heaven for Nichole, not so much for Nate! LOL], and Chipotle, but anyways...scrappy shopping wasn't a HUGE success, but I managed to get a few good things. I got to scrap last night, very spur of the moment, while very tired, but still dying to make an even bigger mess that already existed on my table. FUN stuff!

We've been busy. and it's cool. Findlay was a great trip Sunday to see Nate's family. great conversation & many, many laughs. Target on the way home wasn't bad either. *wink* We managed to get out of there with $75 less in our pockets, but with 3 new shirts [2 for me, 1 for the hubster], 3 dvd's [1 for me, 2 for the hubster]..a great, new red-stripe comforter for our guest bed on sale for only $13 & was stoked! plus some other things that I seem to be forgetting at the moment.

On Saturday after the scrappy shopping trip, and Nate went to work, I went to Kohl's & got some new Yankee candles..mmm...and then Pier One, where I bought lots of good stuff for our place and ALL on sale! I saved over $40 I was excited! :)

This weekend we our having friends down from Findlay, Nate's best friend & his wife.  It will be our first "overnight" guests [well, aside from my sister] so we're pretty excited.  We're also going to try & sneak in the Cleveland Auto Show on Sunday...that should be fun!

anywhoo..Megan is here for the night, so I'm off to spend some time with her before I hit the hay & she stays up til who knows when! :)

what we do

                         On Days off..

First, Happy Valentine's Day! Second, I have a husband who is patietly waiting for me to finish this up so we can watch the Food Network together & then get cracking on our Vday-in dinner [shrimp scampi linguini, with crab-stuffed mushrooms on the side! annnd candlelit! hhe!] so, this must be quick! LOL

anywhoo...this is what we do on a day off, snowed in around here! First, we scrap! Well, I do! Nate watched Saving Private Ryan onthe computer while I made this mess & managed to complete a 12x12 page. Second,we cuddle with these quilts..well, we did this first thing this morning while watching the Today show and had breakfast in bed! Third, we do the dishes. wooo! Haha. Fourth, wel, this is what Aslan does...since he can't watch from his favorite spot in the back, he comes to the front, chills on the bed & watches...the snow?! LOL And lastly, we eat lunch! Nate preparing cheeseburgers..YUM! :) I love days off & I'm going to hate going back to work tomorrow. *sigh* Oh, well, such is life!

baby, it's cold [and dangerous!]outside!

    Needless to say, I am home from work today.  I called off after getting a call from my mom & a tet from Megan saying all the schools in the county were closed & that it was pretty bad out, that if I were going to work, I'd better leave now! Nate & I had no idea, as it wasn't bad when he got home at 4 this morning, so we turned on the news & got the scoop! It was bad at 6:45 this morning, but was expected to get wayyy worse by noon..and I can say it' s almost 2 here & we've heard it's really nasty out!  Nate is still waiting to get word on if he has to go in or not..and even if they say yey, the wifey says,ney!! LOL

It's kind of nice tho, because we both took tomorrow ff previous to spend the day together on Vday [cheesy, I know!], so Ihave TWO days off this week!! woot! :) So, anyways...the photos..the first is our front door about 20 minutes ago! Got Snow?! ;) The one below that is looking out that door...at our neighborhod [your 1st peek of our home! hehe!] & the light snow starting to fall. The 3rd photo is just a peek between the door [I was freezing!]..you can see my most favorite wreath covered in snow & the messiness outside! And last but certainly not least, Aslan taking a peek out the back door looking at all the snow!

In other news, our trip to Columbus was realy great! We had such a fun time taking it all in & visiting with my cousin & her husband. We went to Quaker Steak & Lube for dinner..it was so yummy! I really liked the area, but we will see what the future holds!

Tomorrow marks 4 months for Nate & I being married. Has it really only been 4 months?! It seems a lot longer & I mean that in a good way! It just feels so good to married & have the feeling of knowing Nate forever! The craziness!

I'm off to go get warm & watch some tv! LOL

for the books

I scrapbooked Sunday during the Super Bowl & it was such a good time! I finally got to work on some wedding/honeymoon photos! I did 2 12x12 wedding layouts & this one kinda as a "titlepage" to the future honeymoon pages...but, I can't get my 12x12 digi photos to load, so this is all I leave you with. :)

New  plans for this weekend. New tires on my car, church pictures, possibly going to Findlay, or Columbus on Sunday, and if no Findlay Saturday, Columbus gets postponed for another time, and Findlay Sunday. Oh, how I love having a husband with a stupid/odd/ridiculous work schedule, that is never a guarantee until t night before! [sarcasm.]

The good news is that Nate has Valentine's Day off, so whether I get the whole day of or not, we'll at least have the evening to go out to dinner!

THis week has been busy! Monday night I came home with a bad headache. [yey new contacts..riiight.] went to sleep with the same bad headache. Last night, I went shopping with mom & Megan for my step sister's bridal shower coming up in March...mom treated us to Starbucks and I got 2 sweaters for $14! [yeah. we did a little side shopping too! haha.] Tonight, I had dinner with my grandparents...soo much fun! I love those 2! Tomorrow night I'm going to my mom & step dad's for dinner & to pick up mail that still comes to their house! Friday night, I'm filing our taxes!!!  yeyyyy money!!! LOL

So, yeah. that's pretty much it. aside from the kitchen table that is still  in the living room from Sunday night's "scrap fest". yup, totally bought the kitchen table into the room so I could watch the game, be with my hubby AND scrap all at the same time! haha. it'sdriving me crazy having such a mess in our living area...! ack! that reminds me..i never did post the photos of our place..good grief! I need to get on that!

anywhoo..i'm off to watch some tv before bed..and possibly scrap while I'm doin' it! :)

A few weeks ago Nate's mom brought a big stack o old photos when she visited, and I think this one is my favorite, although, there are some other super cute ones to compare them to!

It's hard for me to scrap older photos, but with this one I just didn't think about it being 'old' and ran with what I was thinking. I really d hope our babies are this cute! :)

I hope everyone's weekend is going well..I'm off to get ready for church!  Can't wait to scrap all night during the Superbowl!

about to break.

I am reaching the point of complete anger when I am here [work].

This is so unlike me.

I am lost. Unhappy. Aggravated.

I hate feeling this way.

I hate having the urge to just walk out at any given moment.

I hate the whispering. The bad communication. The disorganization.

EVERYTHING.

When I go home, I am me. I don’t think about this place.

Until my morning commute..then I’m faced with another 8 ½ hours of misery.

I would say hell, but that’s unrealistic to say, so I won’t.

It’s only here that I wan to scream.

The fake smiles & conversation are annoying.

The select conversations with select people is even worse.

It’s so silly to me.

I know this isn’t where I’m supposed to be.

I just need to figure out where that place really is.

And when.

God knows, I know this.

I am just on the edge everyday.

I called off Wednesday, with a fake migraine.

I had the time.  Nate was off for the day and I just flat out did not want to go in.

So, I didn’t. and the day was grand.

We slept in until 10:30. cleaned the entire apartment.

had a late lunch at Applebee’s.

Picked up our papasan chair at Pier 1. had Starbucks in the evening.

And laughed & joked & enjoyed.

That is how I want my life to be everyday.

Not the complete slacky-ness, just the happiness.

The comfort.

I guess what I’m saying is I want that at a job.

A good job that I love.

Which is not here.

I am about to break.

In the meantime, I’m slowly job searching & haven’t even found one

Billing position around here.

Columbus seems to be a different story.

Speaking of Columbus, Nate & I are making a road trip next Sunday.

This weekend, I must track down a new sweater for church pictures nest Sunday

& spend time chilling out. As long as I don’t think about work, all will be swell.
